For equipment, id suggest the two MUST HAVE (atleast until you're level 15) would be the VENOMOUS DAGGER (snake cave below Crosslagen) And the JEWEL OF FALLHAVEN ( Merchant in Fallhaven)

I used to grind to get gold to buy things like the hardened leather shirt and the Jewel of Fallhaven. But with game improvements over the past couple of years, I find that's no longer necessary — there are enough quests to move me up the levels smoothly without grinding, and as I advance through those levels, I generally have the funds to buy what I need by the time I'm able to use it to good advantage. There's no longer any need to spend hours running in circles killing snakes and rabid dogs (unless that's your groove). That's a good thing, and great credit to the game contributors.

In another thread, I've been tracking my progress with a permadeath character, hour by hour. After 16 hours they're at level 44 with almost no grinding, except what's required for quests (like skeleton bones or a certain type of poison gland).

Try the route to broken bridge after you had some beers i found that for mindless xp farming at higher lvl it is great-not so much gold but you shouldn't have this problem at 50+ lvl.
