Question about active conditions

Post by Pyrizzle »

Question about activve conditions like Weak Poison and Chaotic Grip

When a monster hits you and applies one of these conditions for the 2nd time do they stack or is the number of turns until you are "normal" get set back to regular number of rounds again?

Like if a frog hits you and give you Weak Poison (x2) 3 rounds
And on the next turn hits you again Would it become Weak Poison (x4) 2 rounds [1 turn has passed] or be Weak Poison (x2) 3 rounds again [If 3 was the max]? Or maybe even just become Weak Poison (x2) 5 rounds [1 turn has passed]?

IIRC I saw some comment in the code questioning about what to do in this case.

However it should be easy to figure this out by trying. (IIRC the active condition code is rather complicated.)

Edit: What would be the benefit of knowing this. (beside the fact that you gave a smart looking question to the fellowship of AT ;-))

The benefit? Knowing if i should be more careful of fighting creatures who can effect me with the conditions, expecially if you are fighting more than one at a time. If it does stack I would pay better attention to my health when slaughtering Frogs or trying to stomp my way through the caves.

The idea of getting Wea Poison (x10) for 3 rounds sounds pretty scary to me. Or getting Chaos Grip (x10 or more)

From what I've noticed, only the duration stacks; other effects do not.

And as far as conditions go, I've found 'Dazed' to be annoying and 'Fatigue' to be very annoying, but most of the others are almost negligible.

Fatigue does suck, but Chaotic Grip is no laughing matter...
