Re: Character build feedback
Looking forward to seeing some answers to this. I'm a couple levels behind you and have tried getting advice on this also. Most of my stats are in my signature. It looks like you focused a lot your leveling upgrades on blocking. I went the other route and added mostly AD. I plan to continue adding mostly AD and AC. You didn't mention what your HP was. Mines only 40, so I do plan to add 5 more soon so I don't waste any points when I use bonemeal.
I should also add that I ventured into the new area, but didn't feel like I was strong enough to continue, and not sure how long it would take to work my way to somewhere safe to rest and stock up. So I'm headed to the cave where the RoLS is dropped to grind away for a few levels. Mybe I'll get lucky and the ring will drop early for me.

Re: Character build feedback
Thought I'd post a follow-up: Backwater wasn't going particularly well; I managed to limp down with a couple potions left while avoiding fights whenever possible. I may be a little low in level for this area.
I've gained two levels in the meantime; upped HP to 60 and added 1 to attack damage. When I got back to Crossglen I picked up a second ring of damage +6 and swapped it for Mikhail's ring. I am missing the 10% attack bonus and wishing I'd added points to attack chance instead to damage. When I hit, I hit hard, but it's harder to connect.
I'll be farming gold for bonemeal potions for a while, then go back to finish up. I'm wandering between the snake and wolf caves killing every mammal and reptile in sight

Re: Character build feedback
What level are you at now? I just reached 18 today. My first attempt at Blackwater I was only a 16 and I felt more overwhelmed than you. I wasn't even comfortable trying to get through that first dark mine shaft. Once you get through, are there not places on the other side to rest and methods of stocking up on meat/potions?
I just bumped my HP from 40 to 45, but don't feel the need to go higher right now. I just didn't want to waste any points when I used bonemeal. So far, nothing I've encountered regularly hits me for more than 12 HP, other than the occasional crit. I save often, so it's not that big of deal. I will continue to focus my leveling on Attack Chance, as I see the most benefit there, having put most of my early level ups into AD. I also swapped my fine gloves of swift attack for the gloves of good grip, and I'm OK with my BC being only 40 - at least for now. My next purchase will be a (strong?) tower shield, then I'll grind for ordinary chainmail. (ouch - over 4500 gold!). By then I will probably be level 20 and will give Blackwater another try.

Re: Character build feedback
I would recommend grinding in Falstaff castle as the loot drops there make it easy to buy all the gear you need. Personally I focus mainly on AC, as I prefer to hit more often and many mobs are very hard to hit. I prefer critic weapons to overcome the DR of certain mobs but I am adding AD now as I have swopped my +6 damage ring for the ring of shadow embrace which adds 15 HP, 2 AD and +10 AC.

Level 40, AP 2, AC 170%, AD 27, CC 0%, CM 0, BC 40%, HP 40, 945 rocks, RoLS 1, RoL 0, ElyR 0

I'm at level 21 now...try to get to 100+ bonemeal before trying to get all the way...I burned through 80 faster than I'd have imagined.

Re: Character build feedback
I went back to Falstaff-thanks for the reminder. Until now I haven't thought it very profitable, but it is going better now. I'm able to hang out with plenty of respawns and not too take much damage.Cervando wrote:I would recommend grinding in Falstaff castle as the loot drops there make it easy to buy all the gear you need.
