Any new favors for pre picking a character like a rogue, warrior or what not and start with a certain build? And as we build for that character we are stronger.
If we deviate from that we lose the bonus of it?
I guess this is more for Jackson and Antison.
We have a new Beta: v0.8.13 ("Troubling Times") !

Re: I know this has been talked about
Well I can tell you this, Oskar (the originator of our great game) was completely against character classes. That fact is not really relevant anymore as he he s long gone. But I have to say that to a certain extent I would agree with him. For the new player starting off for the first time and asking them to pick a character class is pretty much unfair as they have no knowledge of the gameplay and strategy needed for success. So the idea of blocking them into a class really makes this game even harder.
With all that said, implementing these character classes would require a lot of coding of the game engine. We would really have to devise and define all kinds of character class attributes, strengths and weaknesses and the like. This is a very time-consuming process. We really need to focus on finding Andor.

Oh yes, a classic request; one of the first we talked about. Oskar indeed was against classes from the start: viewtopic.php?t=1409
I don't think it was ever intended to be that type of game. We've probably taken it far afield of his initial vision, but there are some basics that are just ingrained in the core game mechanics. As you build your character you are also building your class at the same time you decide your skills, armor, weapon, etc.
One idea I've had for this is that we take it in more of a kid role-playing aspect than an actual class system. After you take certain skills or wear specific sets of weapons/armor people can start referencing your 'class' in conversations. Maybe it opens up a small but unique quest based on your class.

Re: I know this has been talked about
I don't think it's even possible, or at least realistic, to create classes now. It would require huge changes to the game engine, items (are some more usable by one class?), etc. Everything would have to be rebalanced, again. It's not going to happen.
