I vote for an option that shows your kill count with each type of enemy.
...and after you kill so many, your stat shifts to, "You have killed Eleventy-billion monsters. Take a break."
Ok, that was me being silly. I think a kill count would be cool. Especially when you have to kill like 6000 of one monster three at a time over the coarse of 16 hours just for a 50% drop chance.

this is an excellent idea.
maybe badges or unlocks for killing a certain number of monsters of certain types
5000 anklebiter, wild boar or cave dwelling boar etc = 'slayer of hogs'
5000 snakes, maybe 'serpent killer'
5000 human, 'destroyer of man'
something like that maybe, perhaps a certain group somewhere requires a certain badge to join or talk to you. this is a really good idea and i think it has a lot of potential to add some spice to the game. id like to see maybe a weapon or two for this, like a spear for the hogs or a club 'shillelagh' for the snakes, something like that, big hammer for gargoyles, weapons that nuke said enemy type or have powerful status effects.

Actually, the game already records how many monsters of each monster type you have killed, so this should only be a matter of presenting this info to the player. The information is currently unused, but persisted in your savegame and updated for every kill you make. The plan is that this information should be used for quest triggers in the future, but currently, it could also be used in the way you describe.
