+1 my friend. The process of developing a game is interesting, not the output. Again, I would far from rate this game among my top10. Same thing for many games from big gamehouses, too.
The fun thing is all the counterarguments say that the game is not completed, that is not my point at all. More content without significantly changing the structure of the game, is just adding a couple more storylines (but besides some specific equipment or skills, or access to certain shops, this does not matter AT ALL... I will still end up with a 50+ damage, 5+ DR, 250+ AC, 20%+ ECC, 100%+ BC character) and some new grind areas to try to get some more barely useful items! Could as well go play another grindfest, like WoW or D3. Easy and boring.
If magic does not enter the game, let's at least introduce alchemy, archery and some more weapon classes, weapon mastery would at least make sense. It said on project meeting #25 that the game would need huge balancing, I don't see much balance anyways... get a couple of more levels if you are not strong enough... only have to make sure people do not have to grind too long.
Back on topic, after implementing some real game mechanics, it becomes a possibility to make this game interesting and create replay value. Seems this is a bunch of steps too far ahead regarding current game status.

If you really want to see change, help. This thread has several generalized ideas that are pretty good, but let's be honest if this is as much work as you are willing to put into them to see them, or at least a version of them implemented you have a long wait ahead of you. We the people who actually put in our time and effort into creating the game are going to work on our ideas first, that is simple human nature. Coming to us with fully formed ideas and an actual plan on how the change would affect the game are the best way to see change done.
At least a few of the changes suggested don't even require any programming knowledge, the content and tile editor are both fully functional. This game is open source for a lot of reasons. One big one is because a whole community of people can develop a better, more balanced, more enjoyable game than any small team.

+1
well said, Sir.

my personal goal: make this game as totally insane as possible!!!
- more puzzles [in progress]
- more global interaction [in progress]
- increased faction interaction [in progress]
- increased mob AI [in progress]
- deeper character development [in progress]
- deeper (skill / level / ability) development [in progress]
i feel terrible for being absent for almost three months,
because i want this game to grow & exceed anything EVER.
but at the same i have a lot of junk keeping me distracted from "Android Related Projects"
[ elsewise i would be bleeding EVEYONE on the forum DRY for more input. ]

+1, except that most of my ideas are requiring coding

I'll give it a shot. I loaned out my lap top. I'll recover it and see if I can come up with some things. I'll try to learn to code so as long as my effort isn't wasted. I know I'm at least capable of some basic item creation.

@Thystonius and @Xero - Looking forward to seeing any contributions, every little bit helps.

I'm not coding anything. It's not what I do. It's not my area of expertise, nor do I claim it to be. I'm simply juggling too many things in my life as it is. If this somehow suggests that the time and effort I have spent contributing to the ideas for the development of this game is not adequate enough and my opinions or ideas are not welcome, then I am ok with that.
Don't misunderstand me, I did give it an effort but I realized I am not able to put in the time necessary to become helpful enough.
Sorry to all it may concern
Also, for the record, most successful businesses do not operate as you suggested where each individual only works on what they want. I also want to point out that I have carefully thought out and planned each idea taking into account several variables. However, I do appreciate you letting me know my ideas are not considered unless I want to physically program them myself. This will save me further lost effort in the future.
Sincerely,
X

i think we have a miscommunication here?
plenty of people contribute in many ways, not just technically.

I think the point is clear and somewhat degrading to say the least.
1. What contributions I have made aren't considered helpful enough to receive recognition.
2. I'm not putting any effort into coding the suggestions so it's not considered for implementation.
3. My ideas aren't well articulated and I haven't considered how this may affect the game.
I'm not seeing any miscommunication. I think I get the point.

i can understand someone getting upset by the way things are handled here,
but degradation of the community is the last thing on our minds.
we are all very busy, and live in different parts of the world.
not every exchange with the public is handled properly - but we try.
some side notes...
- the coming overhaul of the combat system has the potential to change how stats work
(fine tuning "how things are now" is almost a moot practice)
- there are holes in this game, obviously - it's being built from the ground up
(there are plans for the future that already cover what's being discussed)
some thoughts on your points...

1. everyone on the dev team has a differing opinion on how things should be
2. everything is considered for implementation,
and others are free to take the game & add to it on their own...
like the amazing BlackBerry version - it even has *gasp* music!!!

i kinda want to hear it!

3. did someone tell you that you're not articulating your ideas & such?
or are you saying this about yourself?
[this is not a sarcastic question]
just trying to avoid confusion that text based communications can lead to.
i hope we can all keep discussing things...
i have been extremely busy - but now i hope i can spend more time here
mending?

take it easy X
