I recently had to delete Andor's Trail, and in preparation for re-install I backed up both of my savegames.
I just installed the latest Play Store version and copied the savegames back to the proper folder.
The savegames load fine, and the gameplay is fine, all other screens are normal, but large chunks of the worldmap are now missing from map view. As I walk into new areas the map sections get added, but at this rate I'll need to retrace every step to get the whole map back.
Any way to fix this?

Re: world map mostly gone after re-install
To give a full answer we would need to know the previous game version and the android version.
There is an export option (in the Load menu) that saves both: savegames and worldmaps. And also the options to import selected savegames and to import the worldmap files.
These export/import options are available with Android version 10 (I think) or higher.
To import the worldmap files is the fastest way to rebuild them.
Also the latest game versions should regenerate any missing worldmaps when you load a savegame. (That's why it can take several minutes to load a savegame for the first time.)
I am not sure though if that depends on the Android version too.

It was my mistake. On first loading the savegame after install, I thought the game had hung because the "loading resources" notification sword kept loading ... and loading ... and loading
So I force closed the game, re-opened it and when I loaded the savegame again it was quick, but only had a partial map. I guess I interrupted the process, which is why there were a few random chunks of map intact.
Anyway, I have just re-installed v0.8.13, imported the savegames, and waited for all resources to load. Everything is good, all of the map is back in glorious color
Thanks for your help!

In my opinion, the long resource loading should be made clear to the player by adding a progress bar with a number of total resources or something. I totally understand that you thought the game was stuck there, had that happen to me too ^^

I agree. Raphi, is this something that you would like to work on?Raphi wrote: Tue May 20, 2025 9:39 am In my opinion, the long resource loading should be made clear to the player by adding a progress bar with a number of total resources or something. Problem is that you can't know the amount of missing maps in advance, so a percentage or a progress bar isn't possible.
Do you think showing a simple counter how many maps have been progressed would help?

Yeah anything's better than nothing. Right now that swinging sword doesn't really give enough of an indicator that it's successfully doing something. Showing the counter progressing incrementally should suffice when it comes to indicating to the player that the app is doing something.Nut wrote: Tue May 20, 2025 5:31 pm Problem is that you can't know the amount of missing maps in advance, so a percentage or a progress bar isn't possible.

Even something like: "Currently constructing the world map. Please wait...'
