Question about the end of "yellow is it" quest

I got kind of confused with the end of the quest, were the rats and your rat companion all a dream? Did I miss a detail? Sorry things go over my head sometimes. And ik its better to come to my own conclusion but I'm curious of other's opinions on this

Considering that the maps and enemies are still accessible after the quest is completely over,
as are all the drops, including the amazing cheese,
rather than a dream, one can say one was under a spell.
