One solution is to use Boletus Spelunca. But it is a one-time only item. Once the stock is finished there is nothing comparable in the game the player can rely on.
Can we have the potion maker lady in Stoutford or some other NPC provide a potion to remove the effects of Nausea?
Having a potion won't necessarily make the game easy cause snakes can still attack with their crits and their overall DMG would be unaffected, so the challenge would still be there. But at least the potion would provide some relief.
I have 233 BC with gears. Those red snakes with 50% nausea chance still at times inflict me with nausea. If there is another snake in the vicinity than sometimes in a single round I receive 2-4 crits. Sometimes I'm just drinking BPs just to ensure I don't die on the spot. All of this mostly because I've got no way to treat actor condition, and moving away in a battle against two snakes is equally dangerous cause if I fail I'll surely die (because the AP would have been wasted in moving away instead of recuperating health). So holding onto my ground is all I can do, drinking BPs like a drunkard on Meads.

Consider spiders and their masters. The Insect Contagion can easily reduce AC by 60 or 70 points for 5 rounds. But at least BC is not compromised. So while the player struggles with hitting those monsters when inflicted with contagion, the player doesn't need to fear being obliterated cause the overall DMG (excluding crits) from these monsters is not high enough.
This is not the case with Sullengard snakes. High DMG, more crits, actor conditions make them pretty bad*** monsters in general.
