Sometime it happens hero receive "mission objects" and/or reward at the end of a mission (i.e. necklaces, sword, ecc). It will be be better to pop up the image ofthe object for few seconds on main screen to clatify to the player what exactly he received.

You do get a notification that you got an item, although it does not say what you got.
