Maces or Clubs?

Maces or Clubs?
So there are mace and club weapon type. However, I find some inconsistencies, such as several clubs sold by Siola in Loneford. Even though the name is "Brutal club", "Heavy club", and so on, they are mace weapon type. Is this on purpose?

A mace is a development of a club,(the earliest known date to the Palaeolithic era) so they are both the same type of weapon.
