How not to lose Lifetaker[SPOILER]

Lifetaker is a 4AP cost weapon that you can obtain while doing the Mine for the Taking quest and you'll have to give to Hagale or kill him but for me I don't want to kill him.Actually there is three ways to not lose it.Thanks to CHUCHULAINN3 and blueblack_star for telling me about the other ways.
1.Sell then Buy
1.Sell the sword to Lowyna(Don't sleep)
2.Talk to Hagale
3.Tell him you sold it
4.Give him 1000 gold
5.Buy the sword again to Lowyna
2.Drop then Pick
1.Drop the sword near Hagale
2.Tell him you sold it
3.Give him 1000 gold
4.Pick it again
3.Talk then Leave
1.Talk to Hagale
2.Tell him "You went through hell for this"
3.When he said "Let's go" press Leave
And done you didn't lose your Lifetaker :)

How do you buy it from her again when she never sold it?
also when talking to him exit out of the dialogue.
He lives and you keep the sword. Your quest log says he is killed but isnt

You can buy it again when sell it to her but it will disappear when you sleep
..

You could just
just exit out of the dialogue though

Yeah but When you talk to him again he will fight you and I don't like that.I like it when he say's With this money I can rebuild my life.

I just did it yesterday with my Level 67 character

I did it I still have the saved file. When he originally asks you for it, you exist of the dialogue without a response. I had it happen on four characters
