Translation in french

To be honest I don't know... I translated a few strings, and I put "vous" in that specific case. But I thought the game was speaking to the player. If the game is speaking to the character, then I agree, "tu" is the best way. But I don't think we should concentrate on that immediately... I think the priority is mostly about translating the 3000 and more strings left. When this french translation will be over (IDK when, maybye a year or so) I might check every strings in order to correct vous/tu problems, but also grammary errors, or french errors. But I'd say it's not a priority... what do you guys think about it ?

All progress is welcome. If working through new translations makes bigger advances more quickly than editing old ones, then yes!

I am quicker at checking old ones, but I think that translating not-yet-translated strings is better for the game... because melting French and English is worst that having a full english or a full french game, even with some mistakes. A comment on the play store made me think that. It was said that the weirdo translation in french of tye game gave originality

My daughters have both started to play Andors Trail. My Ex has been helping several French game creators translate rules into English. If you need more help then maybe they can. Both daughters are fluent in both languages.

Problem with the Young merchant quest
In the young merchant quest, Burhczyd afgz Dtaloumiye names his company after his initials "B.A.D. Transports". The thing is that on the weblate his name was not translated... We could argue that most french players would understand the word "BAD" but it left me unsatisfied…

So I propose to rename him. Here are two suggestions :
- Murhczyd afgz Utrikör vîn ad Isclï Sako
- Lurhczyd efgz Ntalörk tda Soki

The first suggestion (Murhczyd afgz Utrikör vîn ad Isclï Sako) would make “M.A.U.V.A.I.S. Transports” (the equivalent of BAD Transports) However I find it too long…

The second suggestion (Lurhczyd efgz Ntalörk tda Soki) would make “Transports L.E.N.T.S” (the equivalent of SLOW Transports) A bit shorter…

In German the solution was to let BAD Transporte, which means something like: transports of bathrooms
Other meaning, but nice too

For the French, would the initials M.A.L., as in "mal"(English "pain") work?

Other 3-4 letter names with equally negative connotations might work for many languages also. I have no idea how to handle such a thing in, say, Chinese (simplified or traditional) or some very agglutinative language, but it's a start.

No, "MAL Transports" dosesn't work. First of all you'd need to put an "s" at the end of mal because transports is a plural... and "transports mals" is not french. I also thought about "transports NULS" (something like lousy transports" or "transports RATÉS" (failed/failing transports) but both seems strange to me.

(Even if "transports nuls" is not that bad... "transports lents" seems better to me, but it's only a matter of opinion, I'd like to know what the other translators think about it...)
