I'm trying the permadeath mode, and I noticed that the Loneford rush strategy has been removed, which is good.

Well, not exactly "removed". It's still optimal, but you need to level up to level 5 or so first. Leta, Odair and Halvor can help you in that.

What did they change exactly?

They didn't modify the quest at all, they just made it more difficult so that you cannot rush it at level 1.

They added a wolf to block the path to the Foaming Flask Tavern, it will not move so you cannot bypass it.

That's what I said about the removal of the Loneford rush strategy (boosted from level 1 to level 9 if I remembered correctly.)

Despite some claiming that it's "not easy to find", I found it on the first playthrough (but only gained 1 or 2 levels from it, I don't remember exactly) and noted to myself that if I ever start again, I'll do that first.

Guys probably a dumb question but I know we can't use characters from the beta in an official release version of the game but what about our characters from the official release being used in the beta? I know any gains and shuch wouldn't be brought over when the beta is moved to an official release

You can use your saved character in the beta. But the save will be nie.
