Necklace of the undead bug

So this seems to be a bug I think? I have the necklace of the undead, which gives

+1-2 hp on hit, and +2-5 hp on a kill, but also gives the status "curse of the undead," which drains 1-2 hp each turn. To counter this,
I've put 2 skill points into regeneration, and theoretically I should have a net gain of 1 hp every few turns or so, when the curse only drains 1hp. However, I always get -2 hp, and have get to gain hp passively. Additionally, while the hp gained when killing seems to work if I have less than 69 hp (out of 71), as soon as I get 69/71 hp it doesnt regen when killing or hitting opponents. Its fine as 2 extra hp isnt much, but it does seem to be a bug

I have Re2, and I see the same thing when just standing around passively (I haven't tried anything else). So yeah, it's a bug. Thanks.

Ok, so I'm going to try and conduct more testing, bit it also appears that regeneration isn't working in battle, resulting in me taking an addirional 2 damage each turn from the curse. For example, I had 58 hp, and then I damaged an opponent, but because of my settings I couldn't see how much I healed. However, the opponent then damaged me for 5 and 6 hp, for a total of 11 damage, but I then had 46 hp, so I lost at least 12 hp. The only way that this could happen was that i gained 1 hp from the necklace buff, but then lost 2 because of the curse. Kind of a bummer.

Pretty sure it's not intended to, the skill info says something like:- "no regen when close to an opponent"

Correct. Shadow regeneration works in combat, but regeneration does not. It doesn't even work if you are standing next to a monster.

The Necklace of the undead has it's limitations

Note that in Stoutford you can buy the Necklace of lifesteal. It only gives you 2HP on kill, but there's no curse.
