I have a Synology NAS at home. These are awesome, and they provide an easy way to have a dynamic DNS for free (as a mysyno.com or mysynology.com subdomain) poiting to a photo website.
It requires minimum setup, and once done, you just have to drop your photos from your computer to the correct folder in your NAS using widows explorer, and voila, they're online. You need to have an OK upload speed at home though, and a 2-drives NAS plus suitable HDD cost in the 400 to 500 USD range.

That's not what I was thinking of. If I set up a website with photos, I would get a suitable top level domain, and the photos would be few, and hand picked from all the ones I have taken over the years (which would also mean some very high quality scans from 35mm slides). I would probably offer prints for sale, in limited numbers. I don't know if anyone would actually buy them, but I don't need the money, so I don't really care . They would be organized in some way, and I would have to decide what type of print I would offer for each one (not all prints are equal!), and for how much money. So, a lot of work. I may do it some day, but at the moment I do not have the time.
