Fighting Style: Dual Wield level 1 unbalance

Yes, the game is maddeningly balanced in many ways!
Making the many choices difficult & sometimes a bit arbitrary..but also always for many choices to be based on personal pref/aesthetic or such.

In this case, I finally settled upon popping that skill pt into a 2nd lev of LAP (Light Armor Proficiency) -- eschewing both DW & SaS!
Why? Because when I tried it, I got 11 pts added to my BC (2 pts better than another Dodge, among other possibilities), with hope that'll make runs to Remgard, Green Maze & such faster due to taking few skewers in the gizzard

Besides, figure 11 pts BC is roughly = 18 pts AC or 3 AD.
And I see some merit (optimization) in using skill pts more for defense, and level-ups for offense.

One of my latest new Chars is using dual wield, light armor prof, one handed sword prof, and the bwm equipment (not the rings).
got only 3 attacks per round but the bwm equipment makes him like 20 lvls higher...

Are you saying BWM equipment is overpowered for the level you were able to obtain it?

Without a better explanation I don't really understand either. By my calculation it would give you an AC that is slightly higher than dual wielding 2 x BSS, but with one less hit.

Ok, quite comparable, but which is easier to get: BW set (without rings) or 2 QSS's?

I believe the easiest power spike with final build items would be a couple of the most powerful rings in the game at the crossroad tower. Just grind and safely walk duilen road.

Perhaps this means something for how some of the best equipment is spaced throughout the map. After the update happens, I would like some help while I try to focus on balancing equipment and where they are found. If the BWM set is too easy to get, then maybe it deserves to be nerfed, but personally do not think this is the case. A player pays a good price in effort and time to collect all the items, save the rings. In fact, it might need a buff for that and other reasons.

I think the BWM set is fine. Other items definitely need to be harder to get to though, including those rings and the JoF.
