Maybe it could be themed but I'd like to benefit from across the device UI consistency.

On the other hand, restyling the whole UI is on my mind too, to have greater control over how the game looks (shapes and colors of the Android widgets). Maybe nyktos can be of great help here

i was just pondering about how the game holds on to a lot of pure android UI / UX...

The quick item bar doesn't seem to update the quantity of each item unless you close and reopen it.

Had meat in the bar with 0 in my inventory, hunted a bunch of snakes and it still said 0... Open and closed it and it jumped up to 7 meats.

Seems to need a redraw, whatever the trigger. Changing maps? Auto-tilt? Not just closing and reopening, I believe.

Close and open the bar does seem to reset it to the correct number. I just double checked it myself

Yes it does. I just mean I think the are other things that force the update, not just closing and reopening the quickslots or the "chest" menu

yes, i think you are right on that aspect too. I was just bringing it up because it would be nice if it updated without having to move from room to room or switch something on and off.
