Here is a thought and just for fun, why not try to establish a record by collecting the most rocks before the illusive RolS will drop. I had my first at 4556 rocks and for mental health reasons should have given up long before that. I started at somewhere around lvl 23 or 24 and did not leave until lvl 56. Talk about being obsessed with an item that only exists in the pixel world of my phone
I started Dropping all my rocks and Polished Gems (on my new player) in front of the Alter in the Gargoyle cave hoping it would please the God's of Andor's Trail and maybe they will let me get a ROLS soon.
So far no luck.
But I have been pretty distracted while doing the NPC/Monster/Beast list. About 1/2 way there!

I remember reading that somewhere. Sometimes I have died and thought quick reload, then have a brief moment of panic that I didn't check my items first. But, knowingly having a RoLS, reloading, then realizing, WHAT HAVE I DONE....... My phone would either be imbedded in the adjacent wall, or in millions of pieces on the floor with me jumping on top of it saying "why" over and over and my partner would look at me with that look of judgement while picking up the phone to call the crazy house.
Good thing Ladyblack is not me and has better patients than I. I can feel the pain though.

Hilarious
That is classic. Let me know if it works. I am going to do the same as I am already living in the gargoyle cave. Anything for a RoLS.
Imo I don't think dropping the rocks and polished gems will help. You need to drop something of more value or something to sacrifice.
Like your old character.
I dropped a rats tail in complete contempt for the Wyrm T&A. I have now dropped a rats tail on the Kazaul shrine too.
Within a day of dropping that rats tail I got my ElyR. Lets hope it works in the Kazaul shrine. I think there is some kind of witchcraft going on here started by Pyrizzle.
I dropped sparkling polished gems on every square inside the altar area. So far no luck. I may give the rats tails ago as the gems don't seem to work. I still think something needs to be sacrificed...
I gave up on the polished sparkling gems. I picked them all up as they weren't getting me a RoLS and look better in my pocket than on the floor. I have no rats tails to put there either. That would take leaving the cave and that's not going to happen any time soon.
I've also started dropping all the rocks I collect from the gargoyals in a pile so I can keep a more accurate tab on the ones from the T&M's.
Noob to these forums but I've been playing the game for a year or so. I'm level 26 with 332K experience and have 27K gold. I did not know anything about the point of collecting rocks or gems until reading here. I've been selling them. Does the chance of getting magic drops depend on how many you've found or how many you have in your possession at the time? I suspect the latter but hope the former.

Chance of getting legendary item is 1/10000. Number of foud or possessing rock, etc makes no difference. Chance of getting stone is 1/4 so when you have 2500 rock you are killed prox 10000 trainers. Thats the only reason why people mention their number of rocks (I have 5207 and 3 RoLs).
