I am unsuccessful trying to activate the quest: "Long lost memories"

1) After bragging to Lleglaris, he says "Ha ha! Now, that's funny! [...] You have my best wishes, kid. Hope you get to see the world some day."
2) I have already found the quest item.

Any ideas?

To continue on with this quest you will have had to finish one of the options you can brag about.
I think the Blackwater Mountain or the ROLS one always works

The RoLS is the Ring of Lesser Shadow, one of the three legendary items, the rarest items in the game.

Hi Sharkman,

Details below (spoiler alert, I've revealed alot here - don't read it if you want to discover on your own).
It's part of the quest titled "Long lost memories". That you have it already means you sent in the zombie infested underground near Charwood.
Returning this Amulet to its owner will make the NPC willing to sells you some items - gives access to a few unique items (weapon/armor).
