The the closest I've gotten is 374

I wonder if the count is only of the maps you've visited since the feature was added....

It is! I have had to travel back thru every town, road, building, street, forest, cave, ect to get my number back up. Right now i am @ 256

Don't forget that some houses have cellars... they too count as one map. Have you all been at the lower level of Crossroads Guardhouse where some guy lets you enter a cave for 800 gold? Or visited all shacks in Prim and Remgard that are not part of a quest?
I did and am at 375 now. But have no clue about 376 and 377

yes and don't forget all the little caves and dead ends along the way.... search every where.

Some places are easy to overlook like the blocked off tunnel from Blackwater Mountian Settlement to the cabin.

I know there is an issue with the count involving which version you were playing ay the time, because I just went from 370 to 373 today while traveling over old ground in 0.7.0, done if which I had not revisited since either 0.6.12 or the first 0.7.0 alpha. Perhaps a change in the map hash number makes that old one not count anymore?
