When attacking/being attacked, I'd love to see it flash to a side view battle screen, ala Final Fantasy, with menu driven options to fight, run, use item, etc. Then there could be more monster types in one battle and therefore more strategy. They could hit you with multiple status effects or just simply pound away at you depending on their nature.
I think this would greatly add to the game. It would also allow for more accurate renditions of the enemies we are fighting.

-1 IMO final fantacy style battle screen do not work in AT. Fights are much faster and quicker in AT.

As it stands now I give this a +1/2. I think with a little tweaking it could be a good addition to AT. I wanna take tulkas idea and add my ideas to it if you don't mind.
•when you go after a monster instead of the killing of only 1 monster on attack you get attack by 1--3 monsters in a fight.
•while attacking a monster other monsters can come into the fight adding 1 new monster to the fight. But they can only enter after x amount of rounds after the come into the fight so if the fight ends before they come into the fight then you can go hunt them.
•depending on how many monsters you get in a fight it you increase the amount of XP you get.
•as we travel around we could get people who may want to help us find andor and they join our party.
•we get allies that join our party for a quest but after the quest is over they leave the party.
Just my idea.

Yea good job! I sure hope something like this happens but not many responses for it. Well we can speed it up. Like ff they used a lot of screen play when entering a fight. We don't need this. We can just go straight into the fight. I came up with another idea for this.
•in a fight if there is one monster left alive and a monster is trying to enter the fight. The one monster can send out a cry for help which would bring the monster waiting to enter into the fight disregarding how many turns he has left.

LOL if you want to play FF than go play FF....
I feel this wouldn't be a good fit for the game and would slow down gameplay far too much to be a good addition.
There was a suggestion for a Battle Image for when you fight a boss or any important baddy... Maybe a screen showing you defeating the NPC in some dramatic fashion.
