That is right. But nobody would swing that sack of rocks then, since you already have better weapons, when you made it to Remgard. But you could give it a stunning effect - ever been hit by an sacck of rocks :D
That sounds like a great idea! Maybe 20% chance of inflicting stun on hit target.

Or if this issue is that it takes a lot of strength to wield a sack of rocks:

BC: -15%
Character Condition - Attack Power: Attack cost is reduced by 1AP for every 25 points of base AD, until attack cost reaches 3 AP.

So as you get stronger (higher AD), it becomes easier to attack with it.

Maybe the more rocks you put into it, the higher attack ap cost becomes, until you hit attack ap 7. However, you get a bonus: For every 100 rocks you put into it, minimum and maximum damage +1. Sounds good to you?

I'd rather have it just be a set amount of rocks. I'd like to see the attack cost go down, if not every 25 base AD, then maybe every 50, which would require 50 level ups, so it would still take a while.

Attack cost of 7 would be too high for just 1 extra AD.

Creative idea indeed, but have you ever swung a bag or rocks? There is no way this weapon should be 3AP :?: 5 AP minimum.
That was first thought when reading this idea. If you are swinging something really heavy it should definitly have a high AP.

The main reason I didn't even consider a high AP Attack Cost is because, other than for some challenge (like the giant hammer one) I'd guess a majority of players don't use weapons with an attack cost over 5 (assuming JoF equipped).

So if the idea is to give it a high AP, then I have 1 more suggestion besides the one I already made. Both based on "reality" of being able to either swing it better or more powerfully as you get stronger.

Already suggested:
Attack Cost: 7 AP
AC: 15%
AD: 10
BC: -15%
Character Condition - Power Swing: Attack cost is reduced by 1AP for every 50 points of base AD, until attack cost reaches 3 AP.

New suggestion:
Attack Cost: 7 AP
AC: 15%
AD: 20
BC: -15%
Character condition - Power Swing: +20% of existing base AD.
Example: if based AD is 20, then you get 20 AD from the weapon + 4AD from "Power Swing" condition.

Either way, the stronger the character gets, the more useful the weapon becomes.

I wrote out the dialogue and quest log and sent them in a PM to Oskar, in case he decides to add this into the game in the future, but I thought I would also post it here, so if any other devs have suggestions on the formatting they can let me know and I can change it. As for the in-quest requirements or the weapon stats, I assume the devs will change the numbers as they see fit (I'm probably aiming too high on the AD, but I had to try :D ).

3) Ervelyn: I am a tailer and I make and sell clothing. My most popular item is the Arulir skin gloves because they really protect your hands. Those Arulir creatures have very tough skin, and I was very lucky to find a small supply that seems to have shedded off some of them. But I dare not go looking for more. Even before our recent troubles with missing people, there are some dangerous creatures out there in addition to the Arulir themselves which are also quite monstrous.

1) Well, too bad for you, your shop will probably close once you run out. Goodbye. (Exits conversation)
2) I had to fight my way through a few of them to get here, what if I could get you more of their skin?

2) Ervelyn: That would be very helpful! I'll even make you a deal. I need 10 Arulir skins to make more of my gloves, but if you bring me 15, I can make something special for you with the extra 5.

Ervelyn: That's not what I had in mind, but I suppose it should work since the skin won't wear or tear. It should be able to fit about 20 small rocks, so if you give them to me, I will put them in, close off the sack and make a handle for you.

Ervelyn: Its quite heavy and might be difficult to swing effectively, but I'm sure it will get easier to do more damage as you get stronger. I will give this to you free of charge, but take care not to lose it, this sack took a lot of work to make, and I don't think I could make another one. Because the skin is so tough, that makes it very difficult to make items out of them.

Quest Log:
10) Ervelyn tells me that the most popular item in her tailer shop is Arulir skin gloves because their skin is very durable and doesn't wear, so they offer good protection. Her original supply came from skin that she believes was shedded but she has been unable to look for more because of the recent problems with missing towns people and the increase in dangerous creatures outside the town.

20) I offer to collect some Arulir skins for her. She tells me that she needs 10 for her supplies to make more gloves, but if I bring 5 more, she can use the extra ones to make an item for me as a thank you.

30a) I tell her I don't need anything from her but I will get 10 Arulir skins for her if I will be rewarded for it.

30b) I agree to bring back 15 Arulir skins.

40a) I returned with 10 Arulir skins and Ervelyn rewarded me with 200 gold. <End of log if returned with 10 skins>

40b) I returned with 15 Arulir skins and Ervelyn told me to check back later and she would have my special item ready.

50) Ervelyn has made a sack out of the 5 extra Arulir skin, that I can use to carry any items I pick up along my travels. I tell her thanks, but I already have a reliable sack for that. I ask about putting rocks into this new sack to use as a weapon. She agrees that because the sack won't wear or tear it should work, and tells me it should be able to fit 20 small rocks. If I give her the 20 small rocks, she will add them in, seal the sack, and add a handle so I can swing it around.

60) I give Ervelyn 20 small rocks, and she tells me to check back with her a little later.

70) Ervelyn give me a new weapon "Sack of Rocks". She tells me not to lose it because she probably can't make another one since the Arulir skins are very tough and difficult to make into other items. She mentions that it might be difficult to swing around at first but that the stronger I get, the more damage I can probably do with it.

Here's my 5 cents:

Actor condition: Oops...
-> A rock flies out of the sack
- 3AD to source, +5% AC to source
- 10 damage to target

:lol:

Great suggestion and quest ^^!
Why not a "gold purse", 3AP; 15% AC, -15% BC, AD is equal to a certain percentage of your Gold divided by your level.
(Having a thousand gold at level one is nice while having 100'000 thousand gold at level 50 is more than possible.)

Good luck with the coding, I'm looking forward to bashing skulls with a bag'o'rockz :D!
