I don't know how I did it before, but where do I level at 7, cause the snakes are too hard, and everything else gives way too little exp.

I suggest you quit using the stone armor, use the jewel of Fallhaven, and get your attack cost down to three instead of six. That will give you three hits per turn instead of one, which will make the snakes much easier. As ScorpionZ said, read all the discussions. All this info is already out there. Read it.
