Sounds great! You are very welcome to translate the game to French. It would be a welcome addition to add French to the list of languages that we support!
Yes, you can translate strings.xml, and the other files also if you want.
You can take a look at the Italian or Russian translations if you want examples of other translations. They can be found in the values-it and values-ru directories.
Either post the translated files as an attachment here or email them to me and I'll commit them when you are done.
This is my first release of strings.xml translation in French. This file has been tested on my Android HTC G1 Dream.
The next tanslation will be droplist.xml.

Sounds great! See above for guide on what files should be translated.
I would also suggest that you and LeSanglier cooridnate your work, so that you don't do overlapping work.
Looking forward to seeing the French translation be even more complete!

The resource file format has changed from v0.6.8 to v0.6.9 since we updated the editors and added "actor conditions". If you want to test with v0.6.9, I would suggest you download the source code for v0.6.9 and test on that.
