The woodcutters want you to kill wasps (5 or 6)
5 finish the quest and 6 gets you free boots.
I should be able to finsh the quest with 5 & return with the 6th later.
Is this possible?

It is not, but I personally thought the gloves served me better as gold in my pockets. Just go grind and come back later for the 6th? It's what I did. Kill one, go heal, come back later.
