Translation in German

Hi there,

I recentlly stumbled across this very good game and love it
As this topic is somewhat older, I just wanted to know if there is still someone translating the remaining texts.
As I am willing to help translate the missing texts, I furthermore would like to know if the svn repo is up to date so I do not translate things that were done before.

here are my suggestions for a possible improvement of your monster list:

O: anklebiter, S: Anklebiter, B: the words mean "Knöchelbeißer", but because it's a dog-like creature perhaps "Wildhund" would fit better.

The thing with Vilegard Armorer is also the same with Prim armorer (Prim\'s Rüstungsbauer)
Pretty much all of Bomber's suggestions sound good IMO

I furthermore think that the translation of Loneford Tavern Patron should be "Loneford Gastwirt" or similar

Shadowfang could perhaps be translated with "Schattenfang"
Chaosreaper could perhaps be translated with "Chaosschnitter" or similar

Should we commit the green translations? Any vetos?

There are new entries for version 0.6.11 in
strings.xml, content_itemlist.xml, content_actorconditions.xml, content_monsterlist.xml

Perhaps it would be the best to start there.

Of course I read the thread and noticed the mentioned progress. However this is some months old and no further progress was posted, hence the question

The translations you quote sound good to me.
Except the ones for shadowfang and chaosreaper.
As fang means something like "Eckzahn" or "Reißzahn" the given translation just doesn't make any sense, at least to me.
The translation of chaosreaper sounds strange too. Maybe it could be translated to something like "Chaostod" or "Tödliches Chaos".

Anyways I will look in to the given files and start/continue translation.

Edit: Translated the skill "shadow bless" in strings.xml (patch file attached in zip-archive)
Accordings to the translation validator the only remaining string to be translated is about_contents3.
Since this contains the license and some kind of standard-disclaimer this should be translated IMHO.

Shadowfang:
- You are right "Schattenfang" sounds a little bit strange.
- Perhaps it should be "Reißzahn des Schattens" then?

Chaosreaper:
- You are right "Chaosschnitter" sounds a little bit strange.
- I dont like "Chaostod" so much.
- The somewhat "freie Übersetzung" "Tödliches Chaos" sounds better.
- What about another "freie Übersetzung": "Zepter des Chaos"? (because of the look)

I did look into your patch file. You should separate the new entries each to one line. (as in the English strings.xml)

The patch was created by eclipse, so I didn't check it.
Furthermore I think I have to re-read my translations more often to spot typos

Your translation sounds better, than mine.
Also I like your idea about the shadowfang (Reißzahn des Schattens).
"Zepter des Todes" sounds pretty good too.

I will look into the other files in the upcoming week.

Good work so far!

I guess the new translations will be introduced with the next major update? I've been puzzled a few times when some things were mentioned in the game in English and German. In one of the beginners quests someone asks for cooked meat and you have to bring him a "Braten". I guess this will be fixed then?

...content_conversationlist.xml needs translation.

Perhaps we all should cooperate to translate this file, because it's much stuff to translate. I suggest one of us take over the coordination. The workflow could look like this:

• PN to translation coordinator, e.g. "I'd like to translate 2 conversation lists, please!"
• Coordinator sends back a reply with the conversation list keys, e.g. "conversationlist_mikhail, conversationlist_crossglen_leta"
• After translation, another PN to the coordinator with the translated parts attached.
• Coordinator merges the translated parts to content_conversationlist.xml

I don't want to urge the translation, but the french, italian and russian version is already done...
