New Skills

Post by Antison »

There is already a couple of different "new skill: xyz", but I thought creating a more generic "new skills"has topic will allow us to aggregate any new skill ideas under one topic.

This new skill I thought of today during my daily lunch time walk might be a little silly and to powerful, but maybe not, so I will share it now.
I have been debating with myself for days now on where to spend my next skill-up between 3 skills. This got me thinking, "wouldn't it be nice if I could skill-up 2 skills at once"? That is when the light bulb went on. How about a skill that would allow you to use two skill-ups every 20 levels (or every 5th skill-up)? So now if you are debating between using Quick Learner or Fortitude, no fears, skill-up both at once. Example, you get to level 20 and use this new skill. Now when you get to level 40 you can skill-up twice (same skill twice, or 2 different skills once).

You would only be allowed to put 1 skill point into this new skill and it would not be retroactive.

I am not sure that this would be too powerful, as it would take you 40 levels to turn a profit on it. At level 20 you would spend your skill point on this 2-skill-points skill rather than one of those you are debating about, which would have to be taken at 24, and the other at 28, then two more "regular" skills at 32 and 36, making 4 "regular" skills taken instead of 5. So at 40, by getting two skill points you catch up to where you would be (6) without having taken the "double-skill skill" at level 20. When you get to levels 60, 80, 100… you would be reaping the benefits in the form of extra skill points. I am not sure why Oskar would want to do this, however. Of course we all want to use our one point/turn for two or more skills. Using them wisely is one of the main challenges of the game since the skills were added.
