It is part of one of the new quests in the Backwater Mountain complex.

You get it on both sides I think, it is a quest which is not fixed to one side.

Must have done something wrong because I've done alll the quests in prim and have yet to receive it.

Take the Forged papers to the guard in the room where you killed the BW king- he will let you pass. You have to figure out the correct order through the colored gates (I'd spoil it, but it's easy trial and error). Then they will give you a Vial of Purifying Spirit(You can actually get as many as you want, but I don't think there is any use for them other than this quest). Take the Orange gate out which will take you all the way down to outside Prim. Follow the path back towards BW and you will see the ability to walk down a screen. It's in there.

OK, this topic has me confused. Are we only talking about shadow of the slayer, or are we also talking about how to start the Kazuul quest? Some questions:
1) What exactly is shadow of the slayer? a weapon? Why is it worth obtaining?
2) Are you saying it can be found in that temple to the south of the path leading up to BWM? Is it just laying there, or do you have to kill something?
3) And what's this stuff about the colored room? I completed the BW/Prim quest so I have access to that room, but I can't make it do anything but turn orange, and then the doorway is gone, so I have to change it back to regular to leave. Can it change other colors, and is there ever a doorway out when it's a different color? Maybe I'm just not a smart as the rest of you? (a distinct possibility!)
