Thoughts on skills

I feel like it would be nice if there were skills that affect more gameplay mechanics like, dialogue options (i.e sometimes more options depending who you're talking to, the higher the skill level in skill), food and drinks the player consumed.
(maybe not potions, that might be overpowered, but for example, a skill that increases the effectiveness or amount of rounds food and drink you get from the by a small amount per skill level)
Just an abstract thought I found intriguing, maybe one that could be implemented in the future?
