Hey fellow adventurers,
I’ve recently started playing Andor’s Trail and I’m loving the game so far! However, I’m a bit confused about which weapon to focus on early in the game. I’ve tried daggers and swords, but I’m not sure which one will help me progress faster, especially when dealing with tougher enemies.
Should I use a high-attack-speed weapon such as a dagger or something with higher damage per hit, such as a sword or an axe? And are there certain weapons that I should focus on getting early on to simplify combat? I came across to this
resources/article: [url=https://andorstrail.com/viewtopic.php?t=703]/viewtopic.php?, and as per them I need to simplify my queries to reduce their complexity, or wait for the budget to reset before retrying the query.
Thanks in advance!

There are different opinions about it.
Best you try yourself what you prefer, speed weapons or heavy weapons. They both have their pros and cons, but are equally good imo.
E.g. I prefer a heavy axe, just because I won't need to click so often during a fight.
But ask 5 players and you'll get 7 different answers

I like the balanced steel sword, which you can get the the crossroads guard house. The AC is very high, and the damage is reasonable, and you can get three hits per round.

Re: Need Help with Best Early-Game Weapon Choice?
My first "good" weapon is Flagstone's Pride, and I keep it throughout the game (in preference to any other sword) because it eventually gives me four attacks per round + crits. For a heavy weapon, I waffle between Shadow of the Slayer and the Greataxe of Shattered Hope.
It used to be that I used the axes more later in the game, but the recent introduction of the Shield of the Brave has made Flagstone's Pride attractive all the way through. Still need the axe for monsters with high DR, of course.
I usually end up selling the other weapons. It's good that there's a variety for different play styles, but I feel that the game's a bit over-weaponed these days ("Oh great … the boss dropped yet another magic sword"
).

Assassin's Blade.
It's kinda low on Attack Chance but thanks to its attached effect "Heightened Senses" it gives awesome damage and okay critical chance.
The cons are that it has a lower attack chance and a lower critical multiplier.
But it's easy to get. Here's how:
Easy, ain't it?

Hardened Iron Longsword from Crossglen (I think that is its name). Get that right away, it gets you very far. Bit over 400 gold.
Decent stats, and AP 5 / 2 swings.
Everything else will come naturally as you progress later on.
The questions you ask are the right ones.
If you want to blaze through and be fast, you want 1-hit killers, so high AP cost and damage.
Love blunt weapons for that (Brutal club as shop item in Loneford. Favorite though Olwyn's Curse. You gotta love that damage beast!)
If you want multiple hits for triggers (e.g. healing with necklace pf the undead), take AP 4 weapons (dont like quick strike dagger, due to BC malus). There, I love 1-handed swords the best. There's a fine selection you can go with. Lifetaker is good and Yatagan.
