Question on Another Ruthless Crackshot End

Hey guys! I think I'm almost done with the quest "another ruthless crackshot".
One doubt that arose is that in the conversation with Umar, after Defy's betrayal and disappearance, Umar says that I should give the amount of 50,000 gold to Sullengard. Is there any other way to get this gold other than farming or another option? I ask because I only have 8k gold. For me, the most logical thing would be to find Defy and get the gold, but I think the "wanted men" quest only starts after finishing this "another ruthless crackshot" or am I wrong?

There's something to the east that you can get (after a tough fight) and sell to raise most of the 50K gold, but someone has hinted that doing that might have repercussions in a future release.

There's absolutely zero repercussion for doing what you're alluding to.
In fact, what you're alluding to I put there for this exact purpose

Equip your character for a tough fight. I did manage it once in permadeath mode, but normally, it would be a save-restore-try-again scenario.

Way too low. It was designed for mid 50s
