More lore

In all my time in AT I've always sreached for lore, I've talked to certain NPCs countless times and even re-did quests to hopefully get a different outcome but most are one way. But recently when I got a book about some guy's family history I thought to myself "wish there was more" and so I've come up with an idea.

How about we write books, small like light novels to semi long long books all around the world map and towns? Like for example there's a self proclaimed world famous adventurer outside of the beginners town, if he is a adventurer then surely he would have a note book of some sort no? Exactly, I was hoping we could find that fella's books all around the world in towns like Blackwater Settlement, and Prim and Loneford and even Guynmart's castle, he would write about people, strange things, monsters and treasures, who knows maybe one of his books could lead to a treasure chest like in the Arulir's cave.

Of course I'd love to help write theses books.

Here's some books, they're rough and rigid but with ideas from you guys and time they'll get refined

"In my humble beginning I was a simple yet ambitious fellow, little did I know the paths ahead of me" *this text seems to been added on compared to the rest and is much better written*

"Today is the day I begin my life" *the writing is crude but readable* "I've always wanted to see more of the world to feel more of the world! so I asked my father to bring me with him to the great Nor city!"

"It's beautiful and bustling with trade, I've even haggled for a fine sword! Father has let me roam and I've never seen such exotic items and beautiful women! I can't wait to see more and more, my thirst for thrill won't be quenched!" *end of book one*

*this enter is old looking and dusty, treated like the surroundings but fortunately its still readable past a few parts* "Today father and I went to the church to pray but after we didn't leave like normal and he spoke with a high priest, perhaps about poitons or other items? But soon I was ushered by my father and monks into a dark underground room, scary it was but enticing also, it was like salt and sugar, it was magical!" *some pages seem to have been torn out here* "born better and with it ugres, ugres to grow and manifest into something greater! and my sword seems more appealing than ever, it feels like I have matured in some strange way, I will ask father to venture on my own, I am old enough!" *the end of book two*

+1 for the idea. This would add a lot of story to characters without changing the main story or anything. If you give me permission I could try and fit some into my current project. Storys regarding nature would fit perfectly ;)

That's great to hear, I'll work on refining them and making others, considering there's not many towns I'll probably just make 3-5 depending on how much time I have to work on it and how it plays out in my head. Also I'll just post them here and the latest ones should be the best ones but you can have your pick, and feel free to make adjustments in the books if you see something you can improve. Thanks!

Never mind, I can't seem to find a good fitting NPC for the Adventurer role and writing everything down and yada yada, a lot of ideas came to mind but all were shot down by some factor (mainly myself) and monsters only started to appear recently based off how the game is, like BWM says that Prim recently started attacking them and Prim was saying BWM started to attack them recently, so a series of books is highly unlikely in theses current conditions. Maybe fairy tale books could be wrote and the merchants would sell them, legends and myth books kind of stuff. If some good ideas come to mind I'll voice them.

Uh, a book selling merchant... I wonder why that's not yet a thing. Like where did Arcir get all those books from :D

Like I told you before, there are a lot of NPCs that claim to be adventurers in their younger days

Maybe he got them from the former Royal library. Even though there isn't any castle there now, not long ago Fallhaven was the capital after all.

Anonymous journals like the one in BWM cabin would be nice. Many locations have bookshelves too but nothing readable. Ngl, I was a bit disappointed when I couldn't read. Loved the interactive bits that were added in the early versions like the stuff in the haunted cabin north of fallhaven or the crosses from iqhan cave.
