Andor's Trail

Can anyone tell me what triggers the "Yellow Is It" quest? I have played through a couple times, and the first time I accidentally ended up in Ratdom by sleeping in the bed in Mikhail's house. On my second play-through, I tried sleeping there between various other quests, and cannot get it to trigger. Disturbingly, I have received Andor's stuffed rat from Burhczyd on my second play-through instead of from Ratdom. Am I screwed on this play-through?

The stuff rat never came from Ratdom.
You have to be an advanced player to get into Ratdom. You have to have completed a number of advanced quests.

I was in the mid-40s and had completed Charwood, most of Remgard, Prim/Blackwater, Stoutford, etc. and still couldn't activate Ratdom. It seems the one that tipped me over was killing the Hira'zinn in the Green Maze.

the quests Lodar, Charwood, Colonel Lutarc and the starter quests Prohibited Substance and Rat Infestation are mandatory.
Do you have these and also 9000 gold pieces with you, then you can dive into the new adventure.
