Technically it's not wrong. But technically it is wrong.
You have to have had that ring for those other NPCs to be involved with it

The creator of that directory website doesn't convey that to you there

Those NPCs do not give you the ring. Period.
In fact, I don't even remember why they're even involved with that ring

Don't trust this dictionary too much. It is not wrong, but in a way you wouldn't expect.
Just believe me - I had created these quests around Guynmart after all. There is no mission to get a Ring of Lesser Shadow.

there is no quest to get the lesser shadow ring, is there a quest to get the shadow ring?
