Lutarc#5 - step left = loosing fight

when I fought the 5th enemy, I stepped about 5 tiles left of the spawn point and the fight was canceled as "lost"

You mean you fled from the fight?

it never even started ... but maybe I remember wrongly and i fled... well, can't check again. no savegame around that point in the story

That's easy to understand: Lutarc had announced the 5th fighter, and then you ran away. Although you didn't start the fight this was counted as fleeing.
