Way of the monk and Critical Multiplier

For those who stumble around the same question:
The critical multiplier for the way of the monk is
1 plus (0.25 per level) not (1 plus 0.25) per level…
On the other hand, one would expect higher reading skills from a monk, so who but me would have thought anything else?
