Yeah, it would be boring if we all had the same likings and dislikings.

Nice to hear that you find fun, charnameLol.
I am working on a rather big project, that will be a new challenge for you - at least I hope so
But it will be ready not before next year, so we have to be patient...
In the meantime we will see other releases. :D

Permadeath is a high stakes game, which was a different kind of fun cause you can't be reckless and have to strategize a lot before battle.

I guess after a couple of days I'll start a Permadeath build again and see where I can take it.
Permadeath is not fun for me as it takes the need for grinding to the nth degree.
What kind of build are you playing with to have fun?

I've played as a Dual wielder with daggers and shortswords, and brutal clubs, and I'm currently a DW with Blackwater gear.
My earlier build was a sword and shield which later switched to two handed Xul'viir.
Permadeath I recently tried.

Crit maxium build is not very appealing because it is far too overpowering for my taste.

Grinding for Legendary and Extraordinary items is exhausting because the area where these items can be found is smaller and the higher spawn time of monsters make it not appealing to me. A map such as Sullengard forest is a perfect place to put such an item, because it is quite big so spawn time of monsters is not an an issue there.

I played one permadeath game, the Dungeons of Moria. It was on Unix, so true permadeath. No way to save scum. Took me several years, and as Antison says a heck of a lot of grinding, to beat it. Not doing that again :ugeek:

Several years, huh. That's some persistence.

What motivated you to keep going back to the game, instead of let's just drop it and move on?

It just got to the point where I was determined to beat it.

The way game works it's like this: Too difficult enemies? Avoid them and grind until your ready. What else to do? Keep grinding for fun, stop playing or what? Up to each one. If you hate being OP so much just start permadeath run just like traditional roguelike and everyone are happy then.
