There are many food items that don't give you food poisoning. I just stick with those. You can trade in the ones that do for the ones that don't.

I know. But I want to roleplay in different ways. Not sticking with the same approch everytime. Why shouldn't I use antidote? I want to use potions, items different from what commonly is available or gets recommend here.
We are arguing over something else. The question I have is simply about whether there's a possibility to increase drop rates of poison gland or not? If not the snakes in the starting areas then at least consider other sources to cut down the time it takes to collect them in comparison to meat or animal hair available from so many sources.

There are already some monsters with a drop rate of 30%, spread across at least 16 maps. That's not enough?

Not enough. I am saying it after thoroughly checking the time it takes to collect poison glands and the numbers in total. Roughly 6-8 glands after gringing through the peninsula from north to east area where these monsters are found. And these monsters spawn in less numbers. Compared to snakes found in large numbers on the entire map.

Have attached the stats of poison gland vs animal hair. Clear difference can be seen.

I want the drop rates of poison gland to increase from single digits to 30% default with a few monsters having higher than 50% chance of dropping the poison gland.

It's okay to keep it low in the beginning areas but at least consider to improve the drop rates ranging between 30% to 50% or more!

I think, 30% is plenty enough. Considering the fact, that there's at least a nice corner to cuddle into for a nap at Rhoditas house...
Or, i don't know if there's a place to sleep in crossroads.
So respawning of monsters with a high droprate is taken care of.

And there is an affordable household remedy against food poioning for sale.
if you already went through some trouble you'll get a bed for free in the same inn

Honestly if you play the game right you don't need to worry about poison really. And IF you need one. I never used a thing to heal but a bed.

Weapon Accuracy (1)
Hard Hit (1)
Dodge (1)
Combat Speed (2)
Cleave (1)
Corpse Eater (1)
Increased Fortitude (1)
Regeneration (1)
Magic Finder (3)
Two-handed sword proficiency (1)
Light armor proficiency (3)
Fighting style: Two-handed weapon (2)
Specialization: Two-handed weapon (1)
No issues not even in elm mind (not really)

But I want to roleplay using items with conditions. No shortcuts. No skills. No tricks. Just use what the game has to offer to counter the conditions in order to make the whole experience interesting and different than the usual approach becoming quite boring now.

As I said: there's a cheaper way to get rid of food poisoning. Only drawback is five rounds of nausea (AC -10, BC -10)
so... you _can_ counter the condition without antidote, you can get the remedy as soon as you can survive grassland snakes, wolves and one or two anklebiters.
I think, the game is balanced enough and would like to thank all the programmers for all the work they put into this.

Oh, and I'd like to have two new items introduced:
- a mattress, which i can use to sleep wherever i am. works not exactly like a bed (restores some health, cures illness with a chance of 70%, makes all monsters respawn. but has 50% chance of you rolling somewhere on the current map, get attacked by a local monster, get yourself entangled in the sheets for three rounds plus you need to reequip at least half of your items)
- bags which i can use to store loot in so i can more easily sort and organize my items

@Osho. We are not going to change the poison gland drop rates. Making food poisoning uber easy to get rid of defeats the point of having it in the first place.

A movable mattress is not feasible. Each bed has a script associated with it that triggers when you step on the script. We can't move that script around, it's fixed to the map. I don't think it would be a good idea even if we could, but since we can't that's a moot point.

Inventory already has sorting and categories. Going beyond the fixed ones we already have would be a lot of work.
