When I pumped my character to level 17(Permadeath) I was able to help Ewmondold eliminate the snake master, but I left his card, and now that I've killed Ewmondold I have a souvenir (his card)

I did not pick up the map, but immediately went to him, after I killed him, I was able to pick up the card and the dagger ...

That's right, you could keep the map if
you kill the snake master before talking to Ewmondold.
It was realized that way, otherwise you could not complete the quest if you already had killed the snake master in an older release.
Maybe you can use the map yourself to get world domination

I don't understand what you mean by "card".
Sorry, it should will be "map", but im use translator for do not spend many times at writing.

E.g. in German there is only 1 word 'Karte' for 'map' or 'card'. So translator programs sometimes guess wrong.
