Could someone tell me where to find this guy? I thought I explored everything around there.

The Graveyard King can be found in the Graveyard. If you have holes in your worldmap between Loneford and the river, look there. It's very obvious when you find it.

No holes, and nothing interesting in Loneford's graveyards. I'm in Cithurn's house (to the east of Loneford), how far am I?
Is he associated with a quest? I'm wondering if I've already killed him and just don't remember.

If you had killed the Graveyard King, you would certainly remember it :D . If you haven't even found the graveyard yet, you don't stand a chance of killing him, so don't worry about it until you do find it ;)

Okay, can someone else just tell me where he is?

EDIT: Nevermind, found it. I didn't look far enough east when looking for that hole in the map.

You guys are killing me. There is 502 places to visit. You are going to need to explore every inch but
#How to unlock the graveyard (quest "Mine for the taking")

The graveyard area is a recent addition to the game and is located in the northern part of the map, just south of the waterway house on the road between Crossroads/Loneford and Remguard. Follow the river north of Loneford to the waterway house and take the south-eastern exit from there - the location itself is hard to miss.

However, to gain access you'll need to start (but not finish!) the "Mine for the taking" quest:

I thought
Hirazinn
was the strongest monster in the game right now, I'm getting the strong feeling that I was wrong... :o

I still have to buff up some more before I can even get past the zombies, but there's not much else left for me to do. So it wasn't quite accurate to tell me not to worry about it for now, I thought I was already past the hardest part of the game.

That area is a new area and quest so that's why you were told not to worry too much about it. Either have lots of bonemeal or potions. But try the other quest and grind a bit. Most people were or are in the upper 40s when they did it, if not a much higher level

The way the game defines "strongest" is very open to dispute. It depends on too many factors to be really definable. But the Graveyard King is certainly way up there, and it's hard to even get to him!
