A bit stuck in Stoutford

I've sent three characters to Stoutford so far, two have completed the *Stoutford Old Castle* quest but the third, who through me does obviously have a good idea of where to look for the Undead Soldiers is stuck on finding the last however many it is. I've spent well over an hour systematically going through all the places over and over again and looking for other possible spots, including outside the castle walls, (istr there was one outside the gate on arrival). Any clues or solutions would be welcome.
