My male cousin suggested this nickname as an easy call because my real name is hard to pronounce.
On the other hand, my avatar is from one of the DOTA 2 hero namely "Keeper of the Light".

My nickname is so old that i'd have to guess when I started using it. Might well be, that it began in the late 90's.
It's another quite obvious play on a word. The look and the sound of the name are inspired by one of the main characters of one of the greatest fantasy-epos of that (of all) time.
