Rename the Green Maze?

calling this location the "green maze" on the forums is fine,
it's literally calling the place what it is...
but reading it in the game sounds really juvenile.
it gets mentioned like that twice IIRC?
the location should have an actual name, and it shouldn't have "maze" in it...
it's just too literal, especially when calling it green as well - also very literal.
- Green Grove (better than maze)
- Theseus Wood (you know, the minotaur in the maze)
- Trayver Forest (tres vert = very green)
Zuke might bust me on that last one...

Why not name it after the native folk in there.
I think you have met Tiqui in "No Rest For The Guilty".
But I don't remember if he mentioned the name of his clan... and the quest log doesn't either.

I hadn't remembered that name appearing in the dialogs. I agree it shouldn't be there. It isn't just a forest .. it's hilly, and everything is covered in vines - perhaps a reference to being grabbed by the vines and not ever getting back out?

but do they rule the forest, or just a small portion - down south?
i love where you're going with this,
i wish i would have had it on my list...
well played!

i could be wrong, and i will check... but i think i remember cringing when i read it.
but, i really like the image you put in my head with the vines...

There is one piece of dialogue where it appears:
and one entry in a quest log:
Neither one officially names it. In the first, it's just what a guard chooses to call it. The second is purely descriptive, although it might be better as:

thanks for pointing out where it's mentioned out to us!
i am OK with NPCs calling it green maze in reference,
but not as a proper name like "Green Maze".
i almost mentioned that people affected by "what's under the maze" were the only ones calling it such.
maybe we can have the common NPC's that brush you off - have another option?
--have you seen my brother Andor?
--what else do you have to say?
they might make mention of dangerous places like the green maze (with the actual name)
they could also mention the gargoyle cave that we grind for the RoLS...
just some thoughts...

I think we should totally add references to newer places in NPC dialogs in older places.
And how about an old person hanging out in Fallhaven's tavern with lots of stories to tell about places all over the world map - some personal experience from days gone by (and therefore sometimes no longer true), and some rumors and hearsay (and therefore often inaccurate).

I agree. Enough so that it's already on my to-do list. I thought about going through some of the existing dialogue and adding some name drops, but I like the idea of adding some new NPCs that give you bits and pieces of local lore, both history and geography. We have one such NPC already: Reinkarr in Remgard.

I haven't been to Remgard in years (real time) and I'd forgotten all about him
