Magic spells

Would it be possible to implement magic spells into the game or would that immediately throw off every piece of gear because it doesn't add magic capacity, or add magic damage? Would everyone's hero's builds be broken because they have no magic?

Please give a response and tell me if this is an immediate nope.

I believe Oskar has shot down all magic suggestions to date, but any and all ideas are welcome for discussion.
