Equipment scrolls

ok I have had a bit of spare time to ponder how I can be of use in developing A.T
the first of many ideas I came up with is Equipment scrolls
its a pretty basic idea
first we could have scrolls dropped by monsters describing equipment or weapons and what compounds are needed to make it
then you would have a merchant that deals with using the scrolls for a fee
all those little items like fur and gems come into play
basic idea 15x fur ,12x glass gem and a fee of 100 gold plus your scroll = a hat (or what ever we want to make it)
obviously you would have to have the scroll for each item and the better the equipment or weapon the more compounds used and the more it would cost
I believe this could get even more players into grinding
we could also make a destroy fraction where old equipment can be destroyed for items with the applicable scroll

Well boots, there have been ideas similar to this. I personally love the concept of consruction/forging in games. It is so much more accomplishing (in my eyes at least) to work to make the weapon/armor/etc. yourself than it is for it to just fall from an enemy or be given as a reward. I like this idea, I think it would be cool to have a few extraordinary items that you have to grind for the 'recipe' once, then you can build as many as you please as long as you have enough of the rquired materials. I keep suggesting a crafting aspect to the AT world, but unfortunately it just hasn't found it's place yet.
Anyway......
+1!!!!

That would be an awesome idea!
That's one reason I miss playing Myth of Soma. Crafting can be fun, and if you can work in a little quest to hunt the parts, that's more win.

thanks for the feedback PK17 & Ionsedfishheads I had noticed similar ideas

I love the idea of making your own equipment and weapons brings a certain act of pernsonalizing your hero

another thing I was thinking is the merchant could give the hero a book to store the scrolls in as a reward for doing a quest
so each scroll has a certain place and you know how many are available at the time. and gives a nifty new quest lol
plus we could include quests for the more rare scrolls to involve it more in the game.

I like it too, and actually, it is already in the game technically speaking : lodar's potions and remgard upgrades for example.
We just need the content (quests and items) that do it. Anyone dare to get to the content editor ?

Check out this idea here that I am currently working on:

There are even already some first drafts on weapons, conversations, etc. I'd be more than happy if I get some support and loads of ideas on various parts.

I tried messing around with the content editor once, unfortunately the doctors had to spend about a week trying to put my brain back together after it exploded.

Interesting ideas!
Sounds similar to the Crafting used in Diablo III. =) (Here is an idea directly out of their book, i know shoot me now for suggesting it.)
When creating the items from the scrolls, the stats could vary slightly each time you make it.
for example: Light Boots
Light Boots
First Attempt: BC: +10%, AC: +3%
Second Attempt: BC: +8%, AD: 0-1
third Attempt: AD: 2+3, AC: +2%
