Endgame suggestion

At or just before the endgame, we could require the hero to enter a space where he can take only one object along with him (or maybe none). In the space, the hero would face a difficult opponent -- possibly even his brother Andor turned evil (depending on how the plot turns out) -- and there would be no room to flee, so no hit-and-run or save-and-restore. The hero has has to rely on his innate skills rather than objects that he's found to get through to the other side, where all the rest of his gear will be waiting for him.

I think this approach could find its place in some quest.
For example if character decided to visit courtesan and was trapped by foes.
I just can't imagine storyline which leads to meet his brother naked.
Also this final is little unbalanced. Some characters improve bare hand fighting so they are already in advantage, other put skills in sword, one relay on armor or DR from equipment, others on hit&run.
I think in final battle character should show his best with all his treasures he found and skills he learned.

This would be a nice fit for a scenario or opponent within the propose Cave of Death.
