Areas that are on the Map and Areas that are not

How come Prim is off the map in the most recent upgrade? Being above-ground, it should be plottable. Lodar's hide-out is understandable, but Prim?

Prime has never been on the world map unless you were positioned on that side of the mountain. It's always been a positioning issue in respect to Carn Tower. No worries, Tomcat is coming to our rescue.

That is a good question Raptor.

I would assume that Prim should be visible from the map, but it isn't.

For maps that can only be reached via an underground tunnel do not automatically get added to the world map, but have to be added manually (which is why you can see Remgard even though you have to pass through both the bug cave and the spider cave). Prim will move hopefully next release, and I hope that both Prim and the outdoor areas on BWM will be added to the map.

The task of adding the disconnected maps has been Oskar's, actually, but I hope to learn how in the near future. He's got plenty to do already! But I suspect he was waiting for the Prim move anyway.

+1 great explanation.

If it is not too late, I want to propose my idea, how to handle the Prim & BWM issue.
Rogorn near the bridge told us, that Carn Tower is long far away to the west from that place.
This means, that it could not be between river and BWM, as it is too close.
I think, that the path to it should leads behind the BWM (or better, under it, to easier fit the maps), and returns to main map to the mountain passages over the tiles of Prim, pupulated with Gornauds.
The mountain guide in Prim told us about these passages. The could be easily connected to BWM tiles on BWM16.
Then path leads further to the west up to Carn Tower. The road, visible on rough Oskar map, is obviously lies farther to the West from tiles of BWM, so I see no problems with it.
So my proposal is to place ice tops of BWM right nearby to the river tiles, make them only visulally connected, and place entrance there to underway passage to the mountains north of Prim.
To me, the tiles fits well.
Just new idea for me. If i'm playing Captn.O here, show some mercy to me, please.

There is definitely the possibility to extend maps down the west side of the river to connect to BWM. I'd love to work on that, but have some higher priorities to work on first. But I'll definitely take a look at your proposed BWM16 connection...

Fine!
I only have to say, that this path should be as difficult, as that to south to prove the supply shortage in Prim. I think, that there could be true source of that Gornauds, so there could be dozens of them on each part of map, or may be something like nest with monster on each tile of it, like it was proposed eariler.

Btw, Tomcat, I'm really amazed of your work.

Also there could be graves of mountain guides, friends of Laecca from Prim.

There is already a new set of maps in the works following down the river, which in the future you will have to cross to reach Prim, and some new difficulties in store. But there is still space on the west bank between the river and the mountain for some things like that later on. Remind me after 0.7.1 comes out.

Very little of my wortk is in the game yet, mostly tweaking trees, to be honest. But thanks!

I guess, that passage to new tiles from Prim could be opened after finishing some quest.
Laecca, mountain guide, is good for that.
That's my ideas:
She could show you the path, if you repair her mountain boots, that require replace of heartsteel claws for accessing high peaks. Smith in Vilegard, or, may be, Nor-City could do that.
She gives you that boots and you go there, pay gold/do something for smith (bring hearsteel from Crosglenn smith, for example), and return back.
After she meets you at the map linked to BWM16 and asks, does you have proper boots.
If not (and you are obviously not) she told you to buy appropriate boots from armorer in Prim/BWM, and go to that smith in Vilegard/Nor-City to improve them in the same manner.
After she guides you through chain of linked maps in the same manner, as BWM agent.
At the end this path is opened for you, in both directions, but only if you wear your mountain boots.
----
Also, I have another idea for high mountains maps: we could adjust brightness on these maps to the very high (similar to darker maps in Lodar caves), making some important details indistinguishable, unless you wearing mountain goggles. This will imitate snow blindness and blizzards, that common in mountains. These goggles also could be given you by Laecca, as a result of another quest (searching for her fellow/boyfriend, may be).
This idea seems to have additional coding to support visual effects depending on items, that you wear.
