Idea for more skill point reward increase based on level

Just thought of this while on another topic.
Since we get a skill point every 4 levels, and there are lots of enticing skills, with possibly more being added, just being able to get all the skills we want would require a lot of grinding and leveling up, which some players don't want to do because they don't want to get too powerful and be less challenged by the game (obviously I'm not one of those players
but I have seen some who try not to go too far).
So what if the skill points were rewarded more frequently, the higher up you get.
Example: levels 4-100 - 1 skill point every 4 levels
level 102-300 - 1 skill point every 2 levels (or 2 every 4 levels)
level 301+ - 1 skill point every level (or 4 every 4 levels)
That way, the skill points would sort of be based more on the actual amount of XP you gain than just what level you reach and it would probably still take more time for a level 100+ player to get a skill point than someone at level 5, and I haven't done the math, but I doubt it would take less time.
Edit: the example levels above are just a suggestion. It should be based on whatever level a player could reasonably expect to reach completing all available quests. So if that could happen at level 50, then the reward should increase from each level up starting with level 52. But if every monster added in the next update is tougher than before (which has been the pattern so far), level 100 might be about right by the time the game is complete.
