Elytharan Shield and Helmet

Saw quite a bit about torches, lanterns, and other light sources for the dark areas and maybe night (if that ever happens) so I thought why not have a helmet and shield from the light bringer to help.

Elytharan Shield
AC: -5
BC: 15
DR: 1
Special: Lights up all tiles around the player by 1 square so:

xxxxx
xooox
xocox C=character X=darkness o= light
xooox
xxxxx

Elytharan Helmet
AC: -2
BC: 10
Special: Lights up an area 3 tiles in front of the Character

xxxxxx
xxxxxx
ooocxx
xxxxxxx
xxxxxxx

Alright then hope this can be improved on or maybe even included. Let me know what you think

Like the names :D I know players generally just drop items to guide then round the dark corners of the world so something like this would be answer to the light problems.I can't see it being on the major to do list for the dev team but you never know but certainly do like your concept.good little idea !

Great idea for gear that guides players thru the darkness easier.

I really like your idea! Items which are able to light your path would be great! I hope, it'll be added to the game.

I like the idea too. I didn't find it difficult to get through at all due to the number of games I have played where this concept happens. I just got use to patterns in the dark that I need to follow and take. I think it would be greatly beneficial to a number of people though.

I would love any item that adds light to darkened rooms, including these suggested ones. Even after all the times I've played, I still have trouble with the dark cave to Prim or the Kazual caverns.

we would have to change the maps...
but, that gives me an idea!

can we add another "map layer" that could only be exposed under certain conditions?
a player with a torch could expose the new graphics - in a certain radius.

the source of light could even diminish over time,
like say... granting the Actor Condition = Illumination, for a set amount of rounds.

or even something fun like seeing hidden passages,
like seeing through illusions or something?

I submitted an idea a long time ago (and it's still in development, have to finish it) of a quest that brings back Elythara to life.
Maybe this could be added as a reward from the quest or a special drop in a new dungeon.
